Required Equipment for Membership
Level One Requirements:
Cap, Garrison, OD (Overseas Cap) with or without blue infantry piping.
Regimental DI
Shirt, Wool, OD Coat Style
T-Shirt, Cotton, White or light green in color. No modern brown Army shirt allowed.
Trousers, Wool, Serge OD M1937, OD Green in color, not brown.
Belt, Web, Waist, EM, M1937. Khaki, tan, or light green in color with open face buckle.
Boots, Russet Brown in color.
Leggings, Canvas, Dismounted M1938.
Helmet, Steel, M1 with liner. Netting is optional.
Canteen, M1910 or M1942. One is required for Level One.
Cup, Canteen M1910 or M1942.
Cover, Canteen, Dismounted M1910.
Pouch, First Aid M1910 (2 snaps) or M 1942 (1 snap).
Belt, Cartridge, Cal .30 M1923, 10 pocket for M1 Garand.
Tags, Identification (Dog Tags). Notched and filled out.
*New members will have six months to obtain all items in Level One. After inspection, and approval of Level One items by
Unit Officer, member is eligible for awards and decorations.
Level Two Requirements:
Tool, Entrenching with Carrier. M1910 (T Handle) or M1943 folding shovel.
Blanket, Wool, OD, M1934. One required in Level Two.
Haversack, M-1928 with mess kit (meat-can) pouch.
Can, Meat M1923 or M1943 (Mess Kit) with utensils.
Jacket, Field, OD M1941 (M41) jacket.
Canteen, Cup and Cover (Additional). Two total required.
Watch, Wrist. Any style appropriate for WWII.
Weapon M-1 Garand.
*New members will have 12 months to obtain all items in Level Two. After inspection and approval of Level Two items by
Unit Officer, the member is eligible for promotion.
Level Three Requirements:
Boots, Low Quarter, Russet Brown Service Shoe or Rough-Out.
Compass with pouch. (For Scouts and NCOs only).
Jacket, Field, OD M1943 or
Jacket, Winter (Tanker Jacket).
Bayonet with Scabbard for M1 Garand.
Cap, Wool, Knit, M1941 (Jeep Cap or Radar Cap).
Cot, Canvas. May use French cot if kept concealed from view.
Flashlight, Angled Head, TL-122 A, B, or C.
*New members will have 18 months from the date of their membership to obtain all items in Level Three. After inspection
and approval of Level Three items by a Unit Officer the member will be awarded the Good Conduct ribbon.
Level Four Requirements(optional):
Optional, but suggested to maximize your impression.
Bag, Sleeping with Cover.
Poncho or Raincoat
Blankets, Wool, OD M1934, Several are recommended.
Jacket, Herringbone Twill and Trousers (Known as HBTs or Fatigues).
Boots, M1943, Double Buckle
Coat, Wool, Serge, OD. 4 Pocket Jacket. Class "A" Uniform coat.
Necktie, Cotton, Khaki or Mohair (Wool).
Cap, Service (Visor Cap) Class "A" hat.
Cap, Garrison, khaki with or without piping. (For Summer Uniform).
Shirt, Cotton, Khaki. (For Summer Uniform).
Trousers, Cotton, Khaki. (For Summer Uniform).
Mask, Gas.
Binoculars (Officers and NCOs only).
Case, Dispatch (Map Case) (Officers and NCOs only).>
Whistle, Brass with Chain. (Officers and NCOs only).
*Only Officers are permitted to wear or carry on their person the M-36 Mussette bag.
